Our experienced veterinarians and nurses are here to offer you all the advice you need to enable your pet to have a long, healthy life. We also stock a large range of flea, worm and heartworm products, so we can recommend what is just right for your pet. In addition to everyday care, we run focus months such as Senior Pet Month and Dental Month. During these promotions, we offer extra long consultations at no extra charge, so that we can discuss in detail all your concerns, work out ongoing management plans, and just have a little bit extra time to get to know your pet even better. Our normal consultations are 20 minutes long which is longer than the average. By spending extra time with you, we find that we can be more thorough and work in a patient, unhurried manner.

Vaccination of our pets has been a major advance in preventing terrible diseases. We believe in offering the latest information when it comes to vaccinating, in order to ensure our pets' are fully protected. This has changed our recommendations over the years as new research information has become available. We were one of the first clinics in Western Australia to offer tri-ennial vaccinations, thus limiting the exposure to potential vaccination side-effects, whilst still ensuring our pets are fully protected. We still recommend a health check every year (this is like us going to the doctor every 5-7years!), where we can discuss your pet's vaccination requirements. We also offer titre testing to check their current protection as an alternative to vaccinating.

Our experienced veterinarians are able to offer a large range of surgical procedures in-house. The surgical experience that our vets have allow us to offer advanced procedures such as large/cancerous lump removals, abdominal exploratory surgeries, cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, upper airway surgery as well as surgical requirements in difficult areas such as eyelids or anal glands. Our dedicated surgery department has the latest in anaesthesia monitoring and modern surgical equipment. For all our surgical procedures, our experienced veterinary nurses assist in monitoring your loved one's anaesthesia, and make sure they are comfortable before, during and after surgery. We also use a range of pain relief before, during and after surgery to ensure your pet's procedure is as pain free as possible.

At Dalkeith Veterinary Clinic, our goal is to make your pet's sterilisation day as comfortable and stress-free as possible. A recommended procedure for both health and social well being, we understand that you might be nervous about your family member's surgery. We have advanced anaesthetic monitoring equipment, experienced surgeons and top level sterility protocols to make the day as safe as possible. We have arrangements with several Veterinary Specialists who can see you and your pet in our clinic, saving you extra time going elsewhere. In some cases, it is best for your pet to go to a Specialist Centre for assessment and treatment. We have an excellent relationship with many of the Specialists in Perth and will work with you to ensure the best possible outcome for your pet.

Acquiring a new family member is exciting but can also be a bit daunting! We encourage new puppy and kitten owners to come in for a health check, familiarise themselves with the clinic and staff and ask as many questions as they like about their newest family member! And of course, we all love meeting little puppies and kittens :)

Our clinic has the latest in Digital Radiology to offer the best views of your pet from the inside! Digital radiology offers fast, excellent quality images, as well as allowing accurate diagnostic tools to be used with ease. It also enables us to send off your pet's x-rays easily for specialist opinions.

Just like humans, dogs and cats also develop ongoing medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, liver and kidney issues. These can be complex to manage, but rest assured our experienced veterinarians are well placed to ensure your pet is able to live as full a life as possible. Several of our veterinarians have a special interest in medical cases and extra experience in this area. In particular, Dr Elaine Goh attained Membership in Small Animal Medicine in 2017, giving her more in-depth knowledge of medical case management. Additionally, if needed, we are able to speak with Veterinary Medical Specialists to ensure that your pet is getting the best possible treatment. In some cases, this may also involve referring your pet to a Specialist.

After a complete examination, it may be necessary to do further workup with laboratory testing. This can include blood tests, urine testing or examination of specimens under a microscope. We use the services of a local veterinary laboratory to ensure we have your pet's results back in a short period of time.

An often overlooked area of animal care: we are passionate about preventing and treating dental disease, the cause of oral pain and odour. We have state of the art dental machines allowing us to clean and extract teeth with as little oral trauma as possible. In addition, we stock a range of preventative options, from special dental diets, dental treats, mouth washes and toothpaste and brushes. Dental disease is not only painful and uncomfortable for your pet, it can also affect many other body systems. And of course, having pet cuddles is much more pleasant if your pet has good oral health!

Deciding on the best parasite control for your pet can be difficult – there are a lot of products out there! We not only stock a large range of products, we can also recommend the best product to suit your pet and household. This will ensure you are treating your pet appropriately, using the correct dose rate and not giving them medications they don't really need. Becoming a new puppy owner is an exciting time. But it can also create a lot of questions – Puppy Preschool is a great place to start! Not only will you learn basic training techniques, your puppy will learn important socialisation skills. We have an arrangement with West Coast Pet Care in which you can drop your pet off for boarding at our clinic. They are then collected by West Coast Pet Care for their 'holiday' and delivered back to our clinic when you return home.
